Article IV
 

Duties and Terms of Officers



 
 
 

Section 1. 

 

The officers of the Association shall be a President, Vice-President(s), Secretary, and Treasurer (or Secretary-Treasurer), and the immediate past President, all of whom shall be members in good standing.

Duties of each Officer

A.  The President shall preside at all Association and Executive Board meetings,
      appoint all standing committees, except the negotiating committee and building
      representatives, subject to approval of the Executive Board.  He shall serve as an
      ex-officio member of all committees and may call such meetings of the various 
      committees as he deems wise and necessary in furthering the work and policies 
      of the Association.

B.  The 1st Vice-president shall perform the duties of the President in case of the 
      President's absence, perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by the 
      President, and shall serve as ex-officio member of all committees.

C.  The 2nd Vice-president shall assist the President in the discharge of his duties 
      perform the duties of the president in case of the President's and the 1st 
      Vice-president's absence and shall serve as ex-officio member of all 
      committees.  He shall be the chairman of the membership committee.

D.  The secretary shall keep a record of all meetings of the Association and the 
      Executive Board.  He shall handle all correspondence for the organization.  The 
      secretary shall turn all records over to the new secretary ten days after the 
      election.

E.  The treasurer shall have charge of all funds of the Association, shall deposit them
      in a bank in the name of the Association, and shall disburse funds as authorized 
      by the Executive Board.  The treasurer shall have his records audited and turned
      over to the new treasurer ten days after the election

Section 3. The term of all officers shall be for one (1) year.
Section 4. The officers' terms shall begin immediately after their election and shall serve for one year.
Section 5. The officers shall be elected by the eligible membership with open nominations and a secret ballot.
